The Melon Ball differs from the Pearl Harbor by swapping pineapple for orange juice, creating a warmer, citrus-driven profile that plays against the sweet melon liqueur. The acidity of the orange juice provides better balance to the sugar than pineapple, making it a slightly more structured drink. Visually, it often features a gradient from the heavy green liqueur to the yellow-orange juice. It remains one of the most popular ways to mix Midori.
