1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, save cocktail recipes, or contact us for support. This may include:

• Email address and display name
• Profile information (optional)
• Your saved bar ingredients, favorite cocktails, notes, and shopping lists
• Photos you choose to take or select when sharing a pour to Stories
• Usage data and preferences (for example, features you use in the app)

If you use MixWise in an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, see Section 7.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Personalize your experience with cocktail recommendations
• Send you updates and marketing communications (with your consent)
• Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
• Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities

3. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how MixWise is used. On the website and in the iOS app, we use product analytics (including PostHog) to measure feature usage and improve the experience. We do not use this data for third-party advertising tracking, and we do not use App Tracking Transparency / IDFA-based tracking.

You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. If you do not accept cookies, some portions of the website may not work as expected.

4. Sharing Features

If you share content from MixWise (for example, Instagram or Facebook Stories), the photo or sticker you choose is handed off to that app on your device so you can post it. Those platforms process the shared content under their own privacy policies. MixWise does not sell your personal information.

5. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your personal information. However, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate MixWise, including authentication and database hosting (Supabase), email delivery, analytics, and (on the website) optional session analytics. These providers process data under their own privacy policies and only as needed to provide their services to us.

Our service may contain links to other sites. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

7. MixWise in ChatGPT and Other AI Assistants

You can use MixWise inside ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI assistants that support apps without a MixWise account. Linking an account is optional. Until you link, the assistant cannot see your saved cabinet.

Alexa skill. The MixWise Alexa skill does not receive or store your Alexa user ID. Account linking is optional. If you link, Alexa receives a token that lets MixWise read the cabinet and display name already saved on your account. You can keep using the skill without linking.

Optional linking. If you connect MixWise in Alexa, ChatGPT, or another assistant, we store only hashed access and refresh tokens for that link. With a valid link we read your saved cabinet and display name so answers can use them. We do not receive your assistant's account details, and unlinked requests stay anonymous.

What we receive. When the assistant uses MixWise, it sends us only what the request needs: the ingredient or bottle names you mention (for example, "gin, Campari"), or the name of a cocktail you asked about, plus simple options such as "zero-proof only." Unlinked requests don't include your chat history, your name, your email address, or your assistant account details. Like any website, our servers also see standard request information, such as the IP address the request comes from and the app's user agent.

How we use it. We use those ingredient or cocktail names only to match them to our public recipe catalog and return recipes. We use the IP address only to count requests per minute so we can block abuse. We use request headers only to tell which assistant sent the request, so the links we return are labeled with it (for example, utm_source=chatgpt). We don't use these lookups for advertising or to build a profile of you.

What we keep. We don't save anonymous ingredient lists or questions to our database. If you link an account, we store hashed tokens for that link and read the cabinet you already saved. We don't write assistant questions onto your account. The request counter is kept only in temporary server memory and is never written to a database. Our hosting provider keeps basic request logs (such as time, page address, status, and network information, but not the ingredients you sent) for a short period, currently no more than 1 day, and then deletes them automatically.

Who else is involved. MixWise runs on Vercel, and recipe photos load from Vercel's file storage, so Vercel processes these requests for us. Recipes come from our own database hosted by Supabase. We match ingredient lists on our server against that public catalog, so those lists are not sent to Supabase. When you ask for a recipe, we then read the matching public catalog row by its slug. We don't send your chat or account details to Supabase or anyone else. The AI assistant you use handles your conversation under its own privacy policy (for ChatGPT, OpenAI's privacy policy).

Links back to MixWise. If you tap "Open my bar in MixWise," the link includes the ingredients we recognized and the name of the assistant, so our website can load your bar. Once you're on the MixWise website or app, the rest of this policy applies, including cookies and analytics.

Your choices. You can stop using MixWise in an assistant at any time by removing or turning off the app in that assistant's settings. Because we don't store your lookups, there's nothing to delete on our side. Questions: hello@getmixwise.com.

8. Your Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access and update your account information at any time
• Delete your account and associated data from Account settings in the app or website (or by contacting us)
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Request a copy of your personal data

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is intended for users who are of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the legal drinking age.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
