The Alaska is a spirit-forward variation of the Martini that swaps dry vermouth for Yellow Chartreuse. This substitution adds honeyed, herbal, and saffron notes to the gin, creating a drink that is colder and more golden than the original. It is often dashed with orange bitters to bridge the gap between the piney gin and the liqueur. The drink is potent and aromatic, representing the 'Golden Age' of cocktail experimentation.
