Batida is Brazil’s fruit-and-cachaça family: shaken or blended with passion fruit, coconut, or other fruit and often sweetened condensed milk. The passion-fruit (maracujá) version is bright and creamy. Served short over ice, it is a party-ready cachaça classic beyond the Caipirinha.

Did you know?

Batidas are a broad Brazilian category—cachaça plus fruit—popularized at home and in bars long before craft cocktail culture named individual riffs.

Bartender's Note

Fresh passion fruit pulp beats syrup when possible. Condensed milk is traditional; simple syrup makes a lighter version.
