The June Bug is the ultimate 'neon drink' of the 1990s, famous for its electric green hue and confectionery sweetness. It combines coconut rum with Midori (melon liqueur) and banana liqueur, balanced by the acidity of sweet-and-sour mix and pineapple. Despite its sugar-heavy specs, a well-made version has a surprisingly complex tropical nose, smelling of ripe melon and suntan oil. It remains a fixture at TGI Fridays and retro-themed bars worldwide.
