The Mini Beer is a clever visual trick shot that perfectly mimics the appearance of a glass of beer on a miniature scale. It uses Licor 43—a bright yellow Spanish vanilla liqueur—to represent the golden lager, topped with a float of heavy cream to simulate the foamy head. Despite the name, it contains no beer ingredients. It is a sweet, creamy shooter defined entirely by its whimsical presentation.

Bartender's Note

Chill the Licor 43 beforehand; the temperature difference helps the cream float more easily on top.

How to make the Mini Beer

  1. 1Chill the Licor 43 in the freezer or fridge
  2. 2Pour the Licor 43 into a shot glass (or miniature beer mug), filling it 3/4 full
  3. 3Gently float the heavy cream on top using the back of a spoon to create the 'head'
  4. 4Serve immediately
