The Vanilla Italian Cream Soda starts as syrup and club soda, then gets a small pour of half-and-half or cream so the drink turns cloudy and dessert-soft. Vanilla reads as ice-cream-shop rather than perfume when the cream is modest. It is the kid-favorite Italian soda variant and still a legitimate soda-fountain build.

Did you know?

An Italian cream soda is simply an Italian soda with dairy floated or stirred in — the same Pacific Northwest fountain tradition that made syrup-and-soda a restaurant default for kids.

Bartender's Note

Add cream last and stir only once so you keep a soft float rather than a fully milky drink. Half-and-half is classic; heavy cream makes it richer. Skip cream for a plain vanilla Italian soda.
