Chocolate Frosting Shot
Cake vodka, crème de cacao, and Irish cream with a chocolate-frosting rim.
Chocolate Frosting Shot is the darker birthday pour: cake vodka, crème de cacao, and Irish cream shaken cold and finished with a chocolate-frosting rim. It drinks like the frosting layer of a chocolate cake. Vanilla vodka works in place of cake vodka. The crème de cacao keeps it chocolate; the Irish cream makes it taste like frosting instead of straight liqueur.

Ingredients
- • 0.75 oz cake vodka
- • 0.25 oz crème de cacao
- • 0.5 oz Irish cream
- • chocolate frosting for the rim
Did you know?
“Chocolate dessert shots borrowed the same frosting-rim trick as cake shots once crème de cacao and Irish cream were already on the party back bar.”
Bartender's Note
Keep cake vodka the largest pour. A quarter-ounce of crème de cacao is enough chocolate; more tastes like syrup. Irish cream is what makes it taste like frosting. Equal parts of all three is sweeter than it is cakey. Vanilla vodka can replace cake vodka. Use a thin chocolate-frosting rim.
