Flying Kangaroo
A complex tropical blend of vodka, rum, Galliano, and coconut.
The Flying Kangaroo is a sophisticated tiki-disco hybrid that splits the base between vodka and rum, then modifies with Galliano's herbal vanilla notes. Pineapple, orange, and coconut cream create a Colada-like texture, but the Galliano and vodka give it a lighter, more botanical finish than a standard Piña Colada. It is a rare example of a modern German classic that gained global recognition. The drink is blended or shaken hard to achieve a frothy, milkshake consistency.

- • 1 oz vodka

“Created by Charles Schumann at Schumann's Bar in Munich in 1979, this drink illustrates the European influence on tropical cocktail evolution.”
Bartender's Note
Fresh orange juice is critical to cutting the heaviness of the coconut cream.
