Pumpkin Pie Cider
Bourbon and apple cider sweetened with pumpkin pie liqueur.
Pumpkin Pie Cider is a single-serve fall highball: bourbon, apple cider, and pumpkin pie liqueur. Mr. Stacks does the pie spice so you do not need a homemade syrup. Cider keeps it orchard-bright; bourbon keeps it a drink. Built over ice, it is the easy Saturday pour next to a batch punch.

Did you know?
“Apple cider and whiskey are older American fall drinks than pumpkin pie liqueur; the grocery bottle is just the shortcut that makes the glass taste like October.”
Bartender's Note
Use fresh apple cider, not clear apple juice. If the liqueur is very sweet, start at a half-ounce. Dark rum can stand in for bourbon. A splash of ginger beer lifts it if the cider is heavy.
